Shital Desai, DNP, MSN, FNP-C, is currently accepting new patients. She is a highly qualified Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and has been an integral part of the Wood River Health team since 2015. Desai holds a bachelor’s in nursing from the University of Missouri, St. Louis (2006) and has extensive experience as a registered nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital. She earned a Master of Science in Nursing from Maryville University in 2011, specializing as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. In addition, she successfully completed a postgraduate program to become a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2013. Her dedication to continuous learning and professional development is evident in her completion of a Doctorate of Nurse Practitioner (DNP) in 2024.
Desai has refined her skills through her work as a Nurse Practitioner in private clinics and community health centers. She is known for her patient-centered approach, driven by a passion for holistic care, addressing not only the physical but also the mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of her patients. Desai firmly believes that this comprehensive care philosophy leads to improved outcomes and helps her patients lead happier, healthier lives.
