About WIC
Wood River Health's WIC program connects eligible patients and their families with supplemental foods, health care referrals and nutrition education that support healthy growth and development.
WIC is a nutrition support program for pregnant, breastfeeding and non‑breastfeeding individuals, as well as infants and children up to age five. The program provides supplemental foods, health care referrals, breastfeeding support and nutrition education to help families thrive.
Wood River Health’s WIC program is led by a small, friendly and knowledgeable team that builds strong relationships with clients in a short period of time. Being located within the health center allows staff to coordinate care with medical providers and connect families to additional support services when needed.
Our WIC staff are Certified Lactation Counselors, which means they are trained to provide breastfeeding education, ongoing support and guidance when challenges arise. Staff can also help participants obtain a breast pump through their health insurance.
