For Patients Whose Needs Extend Beyond Healthcare
At Wood River Health, we know that health is shaped by more than medical care. Safe housing, reliable transportation, access to food, and financial stability all play a critical role in a person’s well-being. When these basic needs are not met, even the best clinical care cannot fully support a patient’s health.
The Kim Hebert Community Fund was created to help bridge that gap. This fund allows us to respond quickly and compassionately to the real-life challenges our patients face every day. It ensures that care extends beyond the exam room and into the conditions that truly impact health.
Honoring Kimberley Hebert
The Community Fund was named in honor of Kimberley Hebert, a Wood River Health patient who passed away on April 13, 2021, at Hope Hospice after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Kim Hebert left a lasting impact on everyone she met. She lived a full and meaningful life, guided by curiosity, generosity, and a deep appreciation for the world around her. She loved traveling, connecting with people, experiencing new cultures, and finding joy in everyday moments. Above all, she valued the experience of simply being alive.
Kim was also a committed philanthropist who supported causes that strengthened communities and improved lives. Her belief in helping others continues to inspire this work. Through the Kim Hebert Community Fund, her legacy lives on by supporting patients during some of their most difficult moments.
Meeting Patients Where They Are
The Kim Hebert Community Fund supports patients whose needs extend beyond healthcare services. During routine visits and health screenings, Wood River Health providers ask patients about challenges they may be facing outside of the clinic. These may include concerns related to food, housing, transportation, safety, or financial stress.
When a need is identified, patients are connected with our Community Resources Team. This team works closely with each individual to understand their situation and identify meaningful solutions. Support may include access to local resources, coordination with community partners, or direct assistance made possible through this fund.
This approach ensures that no patient is left to navigate these challenges alone. It reflects our commitment to whole person care, where physical health, mental health, and social needs are addressed together with dignity and respect.
Extending the Reach of Care
The Kim Hebert Community Fund allows Wood River Health to act quickly when needs arise. It provides flexibility to respond to urgent situations and removes barriers that can prevent patients from accessing care or maintaining stability in their daily lives.
Every gift to this fund directly supports patients in need. It helps individuals and families stay connected to care, manage their health more effectively, and build a stronger foundation for the future.
By supporting this fund, you are helping extend care beyond our walls and into the lives of the people we serve. You are ensuring that compassion, dignity, and support are available when they matter most.
