The Block Island Medical Center opened Wood River Health’s stunning new dental facility suite located in the remodeled lower level of the Medical Center in a grand opening ceremony Monday afternoon.
Despite heavy rains, the mood was festive and the interior of the building bright and welcoming for the brand new facility designed with the latest equipment and treatment rooms to meet Block Islander’s year-round dental needs without having to leave the island.
CEO Alison Croke of Wood River Health pointed to the facility as just a first step in growing to meet the needs of the community and welcomed the opportunity.
Vice President of United Healthcare’s Medicaid Dental Services Mike Mueller said the facility is dedicated to meeting the needs of the entire community, including children needing preventative care.
Wood River Health’s dentist assigned to Block Island, Dr. Liu, will next be on the island on Mondays, August 12 and 26. Call (401) 539-2461 to make an appointment.
