A New Path to Care: Mobile Unit Brings Treatment, Support and Recovery Services to Hope Valley

August 15, 2026

HOPE VALLEY, RI (August 15, 2026)  CODAC Behavioral Healthcare and Wood River Health today announced a new partnership to bring a mobile medical unit to Hope Valley, expanding Washington County’s access to substance use disorder treatment and essential health services.

The mobile unit will be stationed at Wood River Health’s 823 Main Street facility in Hope Valley and will operate Monday through Saturday from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM, offering convenient, community-based care for residents who may otherwise face barriers to treatment.

This innovative collaboration is designed to meet people where they are—both geographically and in their recovery journey—by delivering timely, compassionate, and evidence-based services.

Services available through the mobile unit include:

  • Assessment and treatment induction
  • Access to Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD))
  • Mobile outreach and counseling services
  • General health screenings, including:
    • Blood pressure checks
    • Glucose readings
    • Mental health screenings

By bringing these services directly into the community, CODAC and Wood River Health aim to reduce stigma, improve health outcomes, and increase access to life-saving medications and support.

“This partnership reflects our shared commitment to ensuring that everyone has access to the care they need, when and where they need it,” said Linda Hurley, CODAC’s President and CEO. “Expanding services through a mobile unit allows us to reach more individuals and remove barriers that too often stand in the way of recovery.”

“We believe care should be accessible, respectful and rooted in the community,” shared Alison Croke, President and CEO of Wood River Health. “This mobile medical unit allows us to reach individuals who might otherwise go without treatment and to support recovery in a way that is immediate, compassionate and responsive to real needs.”

The addition of the mobile medical unit represents a significant step forward in addressing the ongoing opioid crisis in Washington County and reinforces both organizations’ dedication to improving community health and wellbeing.
