Director of Development and Communications, Executive Leadership


Sarah Channing has dedicated her career to advancing the strategic missions of nonprofit organizations. She currently serves as Director of Development and Communications at Wood River Health, a Federally Qualified Health Center headquartered in Hope Valley, Rhode Island. In this capacity, she oversees the nonprofit’s advertising, branding, events, fundraising, grant writing, marketing, media outreach, print and digital media, public relations, press relations and website development efforts.

Ms. Channing previously held the position of Director of Development and Digital Media at Thrive Behavioral Health, a certified community behavioral health clinic based in Warwick, Rhode Island. She also served as Director of Communications at the Institute on Religion and Public Policy in Alexandria, Virginia, where she worked to forward human rights initiatives and represented the NGO at conferences across the United States, Africa, Asia and Europe.

Sarah Channing earned a Master of Science in Business Administration from San Diego State University’s Graduate School of Business. Her undergraduate degree is in Hotel and Business Administration from University of New Hampshire’s Whittemore School of Business and Economics. She was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow Award as a result of her leadership as President of the Warwick Rotary Club and is a 2016 MU II graduate of Leadership Rhode Island.
