Greg Velander brings more than 25 years of experience in healthcare operations, technology and analytics, with a strong focus on publicly financed health programs and data-driven care delivery. His expertise spans information systems, population health management, business intelligence and operational strategy, all grounded in a commitment to improving quality, efficiency and access to care.
Since joining Wood River Health in 2021, Greg has led a broad portfolio of operational functions, including information technology, information security, analytics, clinical operations, facilities, call center and front desk services. Through his leadership, Wood River Health continues to strengthen operational excellence, enhance patient experience and leverage data and technology to support high-quality, coordinated care.
Prior to joining Wood River Health, Velander served in a series of increasingly senior leadership roles during more than two decades at Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island. As Director of Technology Innovation, he led the evaluation and implementation of enterprise technologies to advance innovation and align systems with organizational strategy. Earlier, as Director of Business Intelligence and Analytics, he built and led a high-performing team responsible for data warehousing, application development and analytics for a large health plan, designing advanced tools to identify and manage high-risk populations and improve care outcomes while reducing costs. Earlier in his career, Greg held multiple roles in application development and data systems, gaining deep technical expertise in healthcare informatics, data integration and system architecture.
Greg holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Bryant University, with a concentration in Computer Information Systems and a minor in Psychology.
