After graduating from Brown University Medical School, Dr. Carolyn R. Blackman completed her General Internal Medicine residency program at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence RI, serving as Chief Medical Resident before joining the Brown University clinical faculty as a community-based instructor and mentor. Her career evolved working as a fulltime Hospitalist at Kent County Hospital for more than 10 years. In 2016, motivated by the clear need for physicians in the post-acute sector, Dr. Blackman moved to Genesis Healthcare working as an Attending Physician, a Medical Director, a Regional Director and then ultimately as Senior Vice President where she participated in leadership through the COVID-19 crisis.
In the post-pandemic setting, Dr. Blackman joined TapestryHealth as Chief Medical Officer serving this high-tech healthcare start-up as an executive for two years. To Wood River Health Center, Dr. Blackman brings clinical expertise, and a commitment to providing quality and compassionate care for our patients.
