June 18, 2024

Wood River Health hosted its 3rd Annual Head to Toe Wellness Fair on Wednesday, June 5 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on The Esplanade at Wilcox Park, 44 Broad Street, Westerly. Sponsored by Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island and in partnership with Westerly Library and Wilcox Park, the family-friendly event connected attendees with resources from many local non-profit organizations.

The annual Head to Toe Wellness Fair also serves as an opportunity for community members to connect with Wood River Health’s providers and staff outside of a health care setting. Health related information and resources are distributed by Wood River Health’s Medical, Dental, and Behavioral Health Services, its Community Resources Team and Women, Infants & Children (WIC) department and many of its community partners.

“We enjoyed beautiful weather again this year and our Wellness Fair received a great number of visitors,” stated Alison L. Croke, President and CEO of Wood River Health. “We thank Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island for investing in this event. We are also grateful to Westerly Library and Wilcox Park for providing us with a convenient location to connect community members with resources to help them thrive.”

Visitors were encouraged to participate in a free raffle for a chance to win gift certificates to the Ocean Community Chamber and the Mystic Chamber. Representatives from all organizations distributed brochures, program information, hand sanitizers, thermometers, pill organizers, hot and cold packs, coloring books, nutritional cookbooks, dental kits, stickers, fidget spinners and more.
